Job Summary
The Production Assistant/Scheduler will schedule all production activities. In addition, will verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
Job Responsibilities
  • Implement the daily/weekly production schedule through communication and follow-up with process leads
  • Assist in planning and communicating project related information
  • Interface with all facets of the operation: manufacturing, sales, safety, customers and other related personnel in and out of the company
  • Promote awareness for safety programs/initiatives
  • Monitor costs; explain variances and month-to-month variation / changes
  • Investigate and recommend improvements including tracking improvements
  • Respond to sales and manufacturing teams' needs
  • Compare information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Operate forklifts to stack and retrieve supplies and materials
  • Document and maintain inventory and ensuring production area organization and cleanliness
  • Receive, unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Check and store merchandise or materials
  • Fill requisition and orders
  • Pack, crate, and ship products out to distribution centers, departments, or assembly lines
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Perform loading and unloading of outgoing and incoming shipments
  • Retrieve finished goods from inventory and stages shipments
  • Operate tier lift truck to load and unload trucks
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read / write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Training and/or forklift experience necessary
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
