Position Summary

Use knowledge of and work experience with teaching Theology/Religious Studies-related undergraduate and graduate courses to teach grad and undergraduate courses in religion and religious ethics, and Elon's Core Curriculum. Work with Religious Studies faculty to continuously improve the curriculum of the Religious Studies major. Conduct academic research in Religious Studies. Mentor students in their degree progress, course plan, and academic research. Participate in the services and activities at department and university levels to support the life and progress of the university including undergraduate research, studying abroad, serving on university and school committees, and advising student organizations. Create a constant stream of scholarly publications and contribute to the life of the university through service.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Requires a Ph.D. in Theology or related field, at least one (1) semester (or approximately 4 months) of work experience evidencing demonstrable ability to perform the stated job duties, and evidence of four to six in-review or published papers. New hires subject to background check.
