Assistant Director of Recreation

Sans Souci and Rehabiliation Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Recreation to join their team.

 Assistant Director of Recreation Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Recreation is responsible to assist the Recreation Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of the full scope of the facility’s recreation services. This includes providing an ongoing, inclusive program that uses purposeful activities in order to improve and maintain the quality of life for residents. The recreational programs are designed to meet the physical, cognitive, social, spiritual and emotional interests, and needs of every resident as per the current federal and state guidelines and regulations. The Assistant Director of Recreation Director is responsible to assist the Director for hiring and supervising all Recreation staff/ volunteers and ensuring that they are trained appropriately to provide clinical, quality recreational services.

 Assistant Director of Recreation Required Skills:

  • 3 years of Recreation experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Must enjoy working with the senior population
  • Degree in Recreation Therapy or Activity Director Certification preferred

Assistant Director of Recreation General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing, implementing & supervising all recreational services
  • Assist in maintaining and developing recreational budget
  • Plans individual and group recreation services, both therapeutic and general
  • Creates monthly calendar for assisted living program
  • Implements and coordinates activities for assisted living program residents including community trips
  • Assist in supervising all recreation staff and volunteers/interns
  • Assist in all necessary documentation (clinical and administrative)
  • Provide and monitor individual guidance and motivation to employees
  • Assist in organizing and executing special events and community events
  • Member of the interdisciplinary & management teams; attend meetings
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Director of Recreation  

Pay Rate: Up to $24.00 an hour (based on experience)
