Job description

Purpose within the Organization:
The purpose of this position is to assist the Student Recreation Center in greeting and checking in guests to the facility. This position will help enforce all policies and procedures set by the Campus Recreation Staff on usage of the building, and will work with Campus Recreation Director on Rec. Center policies and procedures and overall communication to the Recreation Center participants.
Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
  • Open or close performance center.
  • Help with communication with student worker staff on building updates.
  • Help enforce all policies and procedures.
  • Communicate any building needs to Campus Recreation Director.
  • Help review policies and procedures.
  • Check in students/faculty for use of the facility.
  • Open and clean Media Room for meetings.
  • Maintain inventory.
  • Help clean and maintain 2nd floor Student Fitness Rooms and Sanctuary.
  • Trouble shoot any scheduling conflicts that come up with users of the facility.
  • Assist with special events such as tournaments and team camps.
  • Assist in marketing and coordinating programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used and Responsibility:
  • Fusion
  • Google office

Qualifications:
  • Exercise Science and Sports Management or related fields of study preferred.
  • Outgoing, hardworking, and courteous.
  • Ability to work 3-4 shifts a week, including weekends if needed.

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy.
Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
