About the Company

Our client is a highly respected real estate developer and general contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering exceptional multifamily, mixed-use, and residential communities throughout the Greater Rochester region. With an active pipeline of new construction projects and continued regional growth, the company is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on complex multifamily developments.

About the Position

The Senior Superintendent will serve as the primary on-site leader, directing all field operations from groundbreaking through project completion. This role is responsible for coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, ensuring exceptional quality, and fostering a safe, productive jobsite environment.

Working closely with the Project Manager and executive leadership, the Senior Superintendent will proactively identify challenges, resolve field issues, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with company standards.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned construction professional who enjoys leading teams, mentoring field staff, and building high-quality multifamily communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all on-site construction activities for ground-up multifamily developments
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project stakeholders throughout construction
  • Develop and maintain detailed short-term look-ahead schedules while supporting the master project schedule
  • Conduct daily jobsite inspections to monitor progress, quality, safety, and productivity
  • Lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and ensure alignment with project milestones
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, daily reports, inspections, and field records using Procore
  • Review construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and updated contract documents with field teams
  • Monitor workmanship to ensure subcontractors meet contractual quality expectations
  • Coordinate municipal inspections, permitting activities, and project approvals
  • Resolve field conflicts and proactively identify schedule or construction risks before they impact project delivery
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant jobsite while promoting a strong safety culture
  • Mentor Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, and field personnel to support professional development
  • Partner with Project Managers to drive successful project execution from mobilization through final turnover

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial or multifamily construction projects
  • Experience leading ground-up multifamily, mixed-use, or residential construction developments
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing, scheduling, quality control, and jobsite logistics
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Experience utilizing Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to lead subcontractors while building collaborative relationships across project teams
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to OSHA safety standards and jobsite best practices
