Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Must have experience with Accessibility and Life Safety Codes.
  • Must be able to read and understand architectural specifications and plans.
  • Interior restoration schematic design and layout
  • Interior space design, including code review and life safety
  • Building amenity upgrades & and overall building use management
  • Interior accessibility upgrades and code compliance review
  • Working with consultants to direct Interior finish design selection, and developed for presentations for executive leadership
  • Initial Furniture planning and specifications, and coordinating with consultants
  • Space requirements, efficiencies, planning, inventories, and budgeting, including development of stacking diagrams
  • Development of furniture specification sheets and installation schedules to include coordinating and providing furniture fixture and equipment (FF&E) lists; development of specification and bid documentation with university Project Managers and Procurement Staff; perform complete review and assessment of FF&E; review, assess, and assist with oversight and coordination of scheduling installation timeframes with university Project Managers, Construction Managers, and General Contractors
  • Development and creation of finish boards with consultants with samples of materials/fabrics
  • Development and production of schematic renderings
  • Office/Departmental moves and furniture planning, coordination, delivery, and installation
  • Work on and coordinate a variety of project assignments varying in size, complexity and scope alongside Project managers and Stakeholders.
  • Undergraduate degree in either Architecture or Interior Design
  • Licensed Architect and/or a Registered Interior Designer in the state of Texas

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with the documentation and renovation of buildings built from1907 to present
• Experience with sustainability, green build, or LEED
• Experience with accessibility codes and applications to TDLR.
Job Description
The Construction Project Planner is responsible for the planning of interior construction projects for and across the entire university.
Job Duties
The Interior Space Planner is responsible for the following:
  • Review and design of requests for interior space remodels and reconfiguration
  • Assessment of impacts of the design to the overall facility
  • Analysis of building code compliance
  • Conformance with standards for office size, open office plan standards, and furniture standards
  • Assistance in coordinating with stakeholders and FPDC Construction Managers Assistance with developing budgets as requests are submitted to the department
  • Working closely with the Associate Director and Director of FPDC
