Job description

We are actively seeking an experienced Project Planner to support large-scale semiconductor construction projects in Austin, TX. This role will focus on developing, maintaining, and coordinating integrated project schedules supporting Process (Mechanical & Piping) and Electrical construction activities across complex industrial projects.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a planning professional with strong Primavera P6 experience who thrives in fast-paced construction environments and understands the sequencing and execution of mission critical or industrial construction projects.

Responsibilities

Planning & Schedule Development

  • Develop and maintain detailed, logic-driven project schedules using Primavera P6
  • Build integrated schedules from first principles including activity development, sequencing, logic ties, durations, constraints, and WBS structures
  • Develop schedules covering:
    • Mechanical systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Instrumentation
    • Piping
    • Testing & commissioning
  • Establish and maintain baseline schedules aligned with project execution strategies
  • Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis, float analysis, and identify schedule risks
  • Develop and manage resource-loaded schedules for manpower forecasting
  • Ensure schedules accurately reflect field execution methodologies and installation sequencing

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Update schedules based on actual field progress, installed quantities, and productivity data
  • Monitor planned vs. actual performance and identify schedule variances
  • Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly lookahead schedules
  • Generate schedule performance and progress reports for project leadership
  • Support mitigation planning and schedule recovery efforts when required

Project Controls & Risk Management

  • Support project controls by tracking labor hours, scope progress, and budgets
  • Perform schedule impact analysis related to changes, delays, or execution risks
  • Coordinate forecasting efforts with project controls and operations teams
  • Identify constraints, interface risks, and opportunities for schedule optimization
  • Assist with recovery strategy development and implementation

Field Coordination & Construction Integration

  • Work closely with field construction teams to validate installed progress
  • Coordinate sequencing and workfront availability with superintendents and project teams
  • Translate field conditions and constraints into actionable schedule adjustments
  • Participate in daily and weekly planning meetings

Stakeholder Communication

  • Communicate schedule status, priorities, and risks to project leadership
  • Participate in internal and client schedule review meetings
  • Collaborate with procurement, construction, and project controls teams to maintain alignment across all project phases

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of project planning and scheduling experience in:
    • Semiconductor
    • Oil & Gas
    • Data Center
    • Industrial Construction
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6
  • Strong understanding of CPM scheduling principles
  • Experience developing and managing resource-loaded schedules
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, piping, and electrical construction sequencing
  • Experience tracking productivity, installed quantities, and schedule performance
  • Knowledge of Lump Sum and BOQ re-measurable contracts preferred
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and coordination skills
