Job description

Busy Mechanical Construction company looking for an energized and motivated individual for the position of Assistant Project Engineer to join our team.

Oversee internal aspects of Construction Project
Ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years experience in Construction Mechanical HVAC, strong knowledge of both air side (ducts) and water side (piping), and experience working on Public projects.

Responsibilities:
Project Engineer to origanize and coordinate all internal aspects of Construction Projects from planning to closeout
Prepare and review Contract Specs and Drawings, Site Safety, Field documents and forms
Generate, submit, and track Submittals and RFIs, Change Orders, Permits, Logs, Transmittals
Prepare project close out documents, manuals, warranties, training videos and sign sheets, transmittals, and attic stocks
Assist Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers in preparation, submission, and tracking of all project documents
Correspond, Communicate, and follow up with Owner/CM/GC and Subcontractors/Vendors

Qualifications:
Must have strong background in Mechanical Engineering
Bachelor?s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is A Plus
At least 2 years experience in Mechanical Construction / Construction Project Management
Knowledge of HVAC and Piping Systems, construction details/design and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
Self-motivated with excellent time and project management skills
Strong professional communication and organization skills
Ability to work within an environment with deadlines while having to multi-task with changing priorities
Must have a reliable method of transportation and travel to multiple job sites within NYC area

Experience with Public Construction agencies (i.e. SCA, DDC, NYCHA, DASNY, MTA) = A PLUS
Experience with NYC School Construction Authority SCA = A MAJOR PLUS
Familiarity with Procore or similar = A PLUS
