Job Title: Associate Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Duration: July 22, 2026 - January 21, 2028

Position Summary

We are seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer / Project Engineer to support the technical execution of capital equipment and manufacturing improvement projects from concept through production release.

This role will work closely with Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain, and external equipment suppliers to help ensure projects are delivered on schedule while meeting safety, quality, validation, and operational objectives.

The successful candidate will support equipment design reviews, vendor coordination, installation, commissioning, qualification, validation activities, project documentation, and technical issue resolution across multiple manufacturing projects. This is a great opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or early-career engineer who is eager to learn project management, manufacturing processes, capital equipment implementation, and medical device manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Project Engineering and Execution
  • Support Project Managers in the execution of capital equipment and manufacturing improvement projects.
  • Assist with coordinating project activities, tracking action items, and following up with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support project execution from concept through production release.
  • Help ensure project activities are completed on schedule and aligned with safety, quality, and operational requirements.
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks, risks, timelines, and open items.
  • Progressively take ownership of project tasks as knowledge and experience develop.
Equipment Implementation and Validation Support
  • Support technical execution for equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and production release.
  • Assist with FAT, SAT, validation, and qualification activities.
  • Work with equipment subject matter experts during design reviews and technical assessments.
  • Support troubleshooting and issue resolution related to manufacturing equipment and project execution.
  • Assist with documenting equipment-related activities, validation progress, and technical findings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve equipment, process, or installation issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain, Project Management, and external equipment vendors.
  • Communicate project updates, technical issues, and action items clearly across teams.
  • Support coordination between office-based project activities and manufacturing floor execution.
  • Assist with supplier and vendor follow-up related to project deliverables, equipment timelines, documentation, and technical questions.
  • Build strong working relationships with cross-functional partners to support project success.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, action trackers, meeting notes, technical records, and project status updates.
  • Support documentation related to design reviews, equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
  • Use Excel, Microsoft Project, and other project management tools to track project information and deliverables.
  • Ensure documentation is organized, complete, and aligned with internal procedures.
  • Support reporting needs for project managers and engineering leadership.
Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Support
  • Spend time in both office and manufacturing floor environments to support project execution.
  • Learn and support manufacturing processes, automation, robotics, equipment implementation, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist with identifying process, equipment, or workflow improvement opportunities.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence activities as needed.
  • Apply problem-solving skills and engineering judgment to support technical decisions and project progress.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience; internships and co-op experience will be considered.
