Provide leadership and direction in coordinating the accurate collection and reporting of student demographic and academic performance, personnel, financial, and organizational data as required by the PEIMS (Public Education Information Management System) within the TEA timelines/guidelines. Provide professional development opportunities for LEAs to ensure data compliance and actively engage in activities that support the overall mission and strategic plan of ESC Region 2.
Education Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or a related field (required)
  2. Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or Public Administration (required)

Experience:
  1. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in PEIMS collection methods.
  2. Extensive knowledge of TEA data standards and policies concerning PEIMS reporting.
  3. Comprehensive understanding of K-12 student administrative management systems.
  4. Experience in Student Information, HR Software and Financial Management.
  5. Knowledge of student informational systems (i.e. Ascender, Skyward, eSchools, etc.).

Special Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Knowledge of Texas Education Agency (TEA) PEIMS Data Standards and state reporting requirements, including TSDS
  2. Data System (TSDS) collections
  3. Experience with state and federal reporting to include TEC (Texas Education Code), TEAL, TEDS, Unique ID, etc.
  4. Experience in Ascender software (preferred)
  5. Experience in creating training materials and providing professional development to large and small groups
  6. Ability to manage staff (support staff and professional)
  7. Ability to manage and coordinate diverse program functions
  8. Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
  9. Working knowledge of state and federal funding regulations required
  10. Ability to assist Associate Director(s) in the management and coordination of multiple budgets

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Support ESC LEA's PEIMS staff in the collection, formatting, and submission of all data required for PEIMS submission according to PEIMS Data Standards.
  2. Support LEAs in submitting all required data files to the state (e.g., fall, mid-year, summer, and extended-year programs).
  3. Directly supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel
  4. In collaboration with the Associate Director(s), provide for the development and implementation of professional development plans to improve competencies of center staff
  5. Complete personnel evaluation process of assigned staff in a timely manner
  6. Serve as a representative of ESC-2 displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the education community and with the public
  7. Demonstrate a professional attitude and employ professional ethics in relationships with external clients, internal staff and the community
  8. Participate collaboratively with regional LEAs, other ESCs and the Texas Education Agency representatives to enhance services and support to LEAs statewide
  9. Participates in staff development activities, staff meetings and curriculum development activities as required or assigned.
