Job description

Aplin is partnering with a well-established professional services organization in Edmonton to recruit an experienced HR & Payroll Manager. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a hands-on professional who brings strong payroll expertise along with broad HR generalist experience.
The successful candidate will take ownership of payroll while supporting the full employee lifecycle for an organization of approximately 100 employees. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being a go-to resource, working closely with leadership and continuously improving HR and payroll processes.
This position is fully in office downtown Edmonton.
Compensation
Expected salary range is $90,000 - $100,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. 
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Payroll Administrator and full-cycle payroll, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Reconcile payroll and complete checks to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert for payroll and HR-related questions.
  • Complete ROEs and support T4s, year-end payroll, reporting and audits.
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, renewals and inquiries.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations and offboarding.
  • Provide HR guidance and support to managers and employees.
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures, employee records and HRIS data.
  • Support performance reviews, training and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment and payroll legislation.
  • Support compensation and benefits budgeting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR and payroll processes, systems and workflows.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive HR and payroll experience.
  • Degree or Diploma in HR is preferred.
  • Broad HR generalist experience across the employee lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll requirements and employment legislation.
  • ADP experience is preferred; comparable payroll system experience will be considered.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional and discreet when handling confidential information.
  • Able to work independently, take ownership and confidently problem-solve.
  • Experience in professional services is an asset.
  • PCP and/or CPHR designation, or working toward either, is an asset.
