Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, maintaining employee records, ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, and supporting various payroll-related functions. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.


Key Responsibilites

  • Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for multiple employees and clients.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, salaries, overtime, bonuses, vacation pay, and statutory deductions.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including tax forms, direct deposit information, and benefit deductions.
  • Prepare and submit payroll remittances, ROEs, T4s, and other payroll-related filings.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment standards, payroll regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist with year-end payroll reporting and audits.
  • Coordinate with HR and accounting teams regarding employee changes and payroll adjustments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.


Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Payroll Administration, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
  • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation is an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and CRA requirements.
  • Experience with payroll software such as Wagepoint, QuickBooks Payroll, Ceridian, ADP, Payworks, or similar systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
