Location: White Plains, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 11:30 PM โ€“ 7:30 AM
Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Rotating Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as needed

Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a leading hospital system in the White Plains, NY area to recruit an Assistant Laboratory Supervisor for a full-time night shift opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced laboratory professional with proven leadership experience who enjoys mentoring teams, driving operational excellence, and ensuring high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising the overnight operations of the clinical laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow and timely, accurate test results.
  • Provide leadership and support to laboratory staff during assigned shifts.
  • Coordinate daily staffing assignments and workflow to meet departmental needs.
  • Serve as a technical resource and assist with troubleshooting instrumentation, testing issues, and workflow challenges.
  • Monitor quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, New York State, and hospital standards.
  • Assist with staff training, competency assessments, onboarding, and ongoing development.
  • Support performance management initiatives and promote a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Work closely with laboratory leadership to implement process improvements and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Ensure proper documentation, regulatory compliance, and adherence to laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Participate in departmental projects and other leadership responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or a related science field.
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required.
  • ASCP (MLS/MT) certification preferred.
  • Previous Lead Technologist or Laboratory Supervisor experience is required.
  • Strong background in a hospital clinical laboratory environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Schedule

  • 11:30 PM โ€“ 7:30 AM
  • Rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Rotating holiday coverage
