Job description

Human Resources Assistant

Our Human Resource Department is seeking a part-time Human Resources Assistant. This is a role that will fill in on a variety of tasks and activities. This role will perform administrative support for the Payroll division and assist in other HR areas related to large range department initiatives through the duration of our paperless project.

What you'll do:

  • Perform a variety of human resources support activities.
  • Provide customer service to employees and the general public via phone, electronic platforms, and in-person.
  • Plan, organize, and track various assigned projects and tasks.
  • Read, review and apply a variety of information including City ordinance, Merit Rules, policies and guidelines.

What you'll need:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • An ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office products.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience, Education, and Training

  • Two years of experience in general office work;

OR

  • Completion of an Associate's degree in in Administrative Office Systems, Human Resources Management, Business or a related area.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in Human Resources including HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) programs, or electronic records management experience.
