Marketing (Corporate Shared Services)
The Marketing Department at DOWL plays a vital role in driving the firm's growth and visibility by supporting a wide range of strategic and creative initiatives across proposals, business development, and brand communication. As an integral part of the professional services consulting environment, the team collaborates closely with engineers, project managers, and leadership to develop compelling proposals that win work and showcase DOWL's expertise in civil engineering for the built environment. Our team curates and maintains our talented consultants' profiles, project descriptions, and client information to ensure accuracy and consistency in every submittal. Beyond proposals, the department manages the firm's visual identity through high-quality graphics, photography, brochures, cut sheets, and branded collateral. From designing impactful presentations and managing social media to organizing conferences, career fair collateral, and corporate events, the team ensures DOWL's presence is professional, polished, and memorable. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Creating engaging content for website and social media posts.
  • Planning and executing campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive sales.
  • Optimizing website content and user experience to improve search engine visibility (SEO) and run paid campaigns (PPC).
  • Monitoring and analyzing key performance metrics such as traffic, engagement, and conversion rates.
  • Conducting market research to identify trends, opportunities, and customer preferences.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors or agencies to coordinate integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Testing and optimizing marketing tactics to improve ROI.
  • Staying updated with digital marketing trends and best practices.
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of various digital marketing assets (e.g. photography, videography) for use in social, web, and other marketing materials
  • Keeping content up to date on DOWL's digital platforms.
  • Guide project managers and other technical staff on marketing and business development best practices and internal marketing and business development procedures.
  • Work as part of a team of marketers to coordinate and deliver high-quality engineering, environmental, planning, and related proposals across the company.
  • Develop schedules and draft outlines, resumes, and past experience write-ups in collaboration with project managers.
  • Coordinate proposal writing effort with engineering/planning teams.
  • Work with proposal team and graphics staff to develop engaging and interesting graphics for proposals and other marketing materials.
  • Oversee, coordinate, write, provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control, edit, and/or produce qualifications-based proposals.
  • Help identify upcoming projects on which DOWL may be competitive and guide practice area leaders and project managers in positioning the firm to win.
  • Coordinate with project managers to enter and update sales pipeline information in Deltek.
  • Track leads, opportunities, and requests for proposals and disseminate them to identified technical staff, as needed.
  • Coordinate and provide guidance on shortlist interview teams and presentations.
  • Interact with clients on teaming arrangements.
  • Conduct proposal debriefs.
  • Maintain/produce marketing materials not in direct connection to an existing request for proposals or the Vision database, including marketing brochures, Statements of Qualifications, cut-sheets, etc.
  • Maintain data in the Client Relationship Module of Deltek including project photography, project descriptions, awards, employee qualifications data, and resume information.
  • Track business development opportunities via Deltek business development campaigns.
  • Mentor and guide other marketing and business development staff in proposal work and business development.
  • Determine needs for, and support implementation of, market research and special projects related to marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry events, as needed.
  • Assist or lead involvement in community organizations and events, as needed.
  • Additional duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, or related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum two years' digital marketing experience, preferred in an architecture/engineering/construction industry-related experience.
  • Proficiency with social media management platform(s) such as Social Sprout, Hootsuite, or Buffer preferred. Must possess intermediate Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Basic proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom).
  • SEO experience and tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Moz preferred.

Content Marketers travel to client locations, project sites, venues, and partner offices to support campaign execution, brand visibility, and stakeholder engagement. These visits are essential for:
  • Conducting on-site market research and content capture (e.g., photos, videos, interviews, testimonials) to produce accurate, timely, and compelling marketing assets.
  • Meeting with clients, partners, and vendors to coordinate campaigns, review creative, conduct site walk-throughs, and address issues requiring in-person collaboration.
  • Supporting events, activations, and trade shows by overseeing setup, staffing, vendor coordination, and real-time troubleshooting.
  • Auditing brand presence in the field (e.g., signage, displays, collateral placement) and verifying compliance with brand standards and contractual obligations.
  • Responding to time-sensitive needs, such as media opportunities, urgent content capture, or last-minute site changes that must be addressed on location.

Because these tasks often require timely and flexible transportation, the ability to drive is essential for fulfilling the role effectively.
Mathematical Skills
