Job description

Duties Description GIS and Database Maintenance Coordinate with Bureau of Real Property to update real property data layers as needed Create maps and other data products in support of program needs Landowner Communications Update and send annual letters to CE landowners Field inquiries from CE landowners and work with regional and program staff to resolve questions Public Outreach Coordinate with outreach staff on the promotion of recreational opportunities on CE properties across the state Create social media posts highlighting CE properties and what they have to offer Assist with creation and updating of public web pages to provide accurate information regarding public access opportunities Conservation Easement Stewardship Assist with the development of new acquisition baseline documentations Assist regional staff with monitoring and inspection of conservation easements Assist regional staff with implementation of public recreational opportunities on conservation easement lands Policy and CE Development and Interpretation Coordinate with regional staff and assist in the creation of a CE Monitoring Policy working group Assist program manager in the development and interpretation of conservation easement language Program and Bureau Administration Assist program manager with the day-to-day administration of the program Assist with processing and issuance of access permits for state lands and conservation easements Other duties as necessary Minimum Qualifications Thirty (30) semester credit hours, including twelve (12) semester credit hours in forestry, which must include at least one course in three or more of the following areas: botany, dendrology, forest biology, forest ecology, forest ecosystem management, forest entomology, forest health, forest mensuration, forest pathology, forest protection, forest soils, general soils, geographic information systems, land surveying, and silviculture OR One (1) year of technical forestry experience in one (1) or more of the following areas: forest management, including sale and removal of timber products; nursery management, including the transplanting of tree or shrub seedlings; forest pest management, including control of diseases and insect pests. Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2027, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.

Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain. Must be able to work in remote areas.

Travel may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.
