Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist guests with fishing pole rentals, bait, and inquires
  • Maintain inventory of fishing rods, reels, tackle, and bait; prepare daily restock and coordinate with suppliers.  
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering inquiries and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Ensure bait storage, coolers, and equipment meet cleanliness and safety standards.  
  • Oversee rental program, including fee collection, equipment setup, and returns.  
  • Monitor and control access to the fishing pier
  • Collect fishing fees for non-resident of Sunny Isles
  • Facilitate daily fishing instruction for kids (ages 6–14), families, and beginners, focusing on                  safety, techniques, and catch-and-release practices.  
  • Promote responsible consumption and concession sales
  • Offer guidance and instructions on how to fish and equipment usage
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pier area
  • Assist with special events and activities related to the pier
  • Cash handling and point of sales usage

Qualifications:
  • Strong passion for fishing and outdoor activities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., stand/walk for long periods, and manage physical activity related to fishing and recreation setup. 
  • Maintain working knowledge of fishing gear, rig setup techniques and all regulations for prohibited gear and tackle for Sunny Isles Pier
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks
  • Basic knowledge of fishing regulations and safety procedures
  • First Aid and/or CPR certification preferred
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle cash transactions
  • Must be of legal age to stock and serve alcohol in Florida
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
  • Previous experience in guest service, recreation, hospitality industry or pier operations is a plus
