Essential Functions and responsibilities
• Perform month end close processes, including preparing/posting journal entries, account reconciliations, preparing trial balances, and assisting with financial reporting.
• Own all transactions, monitoring coding and overseeing key vendor and client system setup.
• Responsible for fixed asset accounting, including monthly depreciation, ensuring proper capitalization procedures.
• Support Accounting team members as backup for additional processes.
• Responsible for accounting of all property leases and sub-leases.
• Responsible for deferred revenue accounting.
• Responsible for cost of sales for software products, including data analysis and related narratives.
• Review financial results against budget and assist with variance explanations.
• Assist in the annual budget preparation and monthly forecast.
• Work closely with the Financial Controller to audit financial inputs and results, identify opportunities and implement processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform ad hoc analysis for various business leaders.
• Be passionate in resolving complex accounting discrepancies as needed.
• Partner with internal teams to help implement and upgrade accounting systems, processes and procedures. Review processes and implement controls to ensure mitigated risk for El Rio Grande.
