Collin Street Bakery: Financial Controller

Baked in Texas, shipped to the world: Collin Street Bakery has traditionally been a mail order company, shipping to all 50 states and nearly 200 countries globally. Today however, CSB is predominantly an E-Commerce business. However, the brand also maintains 4 brick and mortar “Bakeshops”, presence on 3P websites, and has rapidly growing supermarket presence across 40 states. Collin Street operates its own manufacturing plant, shipping warehouse, and call center. Located in Corsicana, TX (50 miles south of Dallas) Collin Street is a historic, 4th generation family-owned business, founded in 1896. We have a tight knit, hardworking, fun-loving team that is passionate about our people and our mission.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a financial controller who gets it, wants it, has the capacity to do it, and has done it before. We are seeking a person with a servant leadership mindset; a leader who will learn our operations and serve our operational departments with accurate and timely information to help us make great decisions. The controller report to and work closely with ownership and alongside the executive leadership team to help serve, manage, and administer all aspects of the business. They will lead a team of 3 full time and 1 part time teammates (themselves, 2 other full time, and 1 part time person). They will work with our outside tax accounting firm as well. This person is expected to be a cultural leader by example, adhering to our core values. This person will be responsible for executing all day to day blocking and tackling of the finance, accounting, and administration of the business. We seek to have a financial team and financial strategy that serves and works around the operational and organization strategies of the business.

Responsibilities:

· Build, maintain, and provide accurate and timely reporting to the various operational decision makers.

· Analyze the business, partnering in continuous improvement efforts. Bringing suggestions, brainstorming, and feedback to the team.

· Responsible for leading all financial aspects of the business including management of the accounting and administrative teams.

· Maintain all financial and administrative compliance for the company.

· Be a champion for our ERP system “NetSuite” by Oracle.

· Help develop and monitor and monthly operating budget(s) and any necessary budget revisions.

· Responsible for ensuring the maintenance of accounting records and preparation of financial statements and reports.

· Authorize/manage all expenditures/disbursements.

· Maintain all bank accounts and monitor business cash flow.

· Maintain financial controls and segregation of duties.

· Oversee the property and casualty insurance

· Partner with I.T. to oversee the operation, maintenance, and security of all financial software(s).

· Oversee timely submission of all federal and state payroll taxes, benefit premiums, retirement contributions and worker’s compensation premiums.

· Management of retirement plans and other employee benefits.

Supervisory Responsibility: Must be prepared to manage a team of 5-10 members across the organization including but not limited to Procurement, Human Resources, Finance and Accounting.

Schedule: Full-Time, In Person Monday – Friday, with rare but potential weekend help.

Minimum Experience/Education: At least 5 years of increasing accounting and supervisory experience (Required), NetSuite experience (strongly preferred) Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred but not required. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
