Assistant Finance Director


Lang Recruiting is partnering with a respected public-sector organization seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Director to support financial operations, reporting, budgeting, compliance, and governmental accounting functions.

This position serves as a key financial resource within the organization and works closely with leadership to ensure strong fiscal management, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and statements
  • Assist with budget development, forecasting, and monitoring
  • Coordinate audits and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Perform financial analysis and project accounting
  • Manage governmental accounting and reporting requirements
  • Support transportation and infrastructure funding compliance
  • Serve as a backup resource for accounting and payroll functions as needed
  • Assist with special projects and organizational financial initiatives
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic financial planning and operational improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Governmental accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Experience coordinating audits and regulatory reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial management systems
  • Experience with Precision Road software required
  • Experience with BS&A Financial Management Software preferred
