Event Team Leader / Part-Time Assistant Manager & Trainer
Location: Richmond, VA and surrounding markets
Position Type: Part-Time (Contractor / 1099) - Independent flexibility with weekend focus
Target Earnings: $30,000 - $60,000 / year (Based on production and performance)
About Us
AAPCO and Bath Planet of Richmond are premier names in the home improvement industry, built on a foundation of quality products and exceptional customer service. As we ramp up our presence at regional events, we are looking for an independent, sharp, and motivated leader to spearhead our event execution and help train a growing team of event specialists.
The Role
We are seeking a high-energy, independent Part-Time Assistant Event Manager & Trainer on a 1099 contractor basis. This role is highly dynamic, giving you the freedom to drive results your way. You will split your time between working the floor at major regional events-generating high-quality leads-and hands-on coaching of new reps to replicate that success.
If you are a self-starter who excels in face-to-face marketing environments, loves the thrill of uncapped performance-based pay, and enjoys teaching others how to win, this contract role offers the perfect mix of flexibility and high income potential.
Key Focus Areas
  • Frontline Execution: Represent the brand at home shows, county fairs, festivals, and various indoor/outdoor community events, actively securing qualified leads and scheduling customer consultations.
  • Field Training & Coaching: Shadow and train new team members directly at event venues-coaching them on positioning, script execution, customer engagement, and breaking through objections.
  • Event Logistics Support: Assist with the coordination, setup, and teardown of event displays, ensuring the booth meets strict brand and presentation standards.
  • Performance Motivation: Set the pace for the team by demonstrating top-tier results and providing actionable, real-time feedback to improve group performance.

Qualifications
  • Proven Track Record: Solid experience in face-to-face sales, event marketing, promotions, or direct retail team leadership.
  • Natural Trainer: A passion for coaching people and a knack for explaining sales/marketing processes clearly.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Events run when crowds are largest. Consistent weekend availability is a requirement for this position.
  • High Energy & Resilience: Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor event settings (fairs, festivals) and maintaining high engagement levels on your feet.
  • Independent Setup: Must operate as a 1099 independent contractor with a valid driver's license and reliable transport to move between regional event locations.

What This Partnership Offers
  • Lucrative Performance Pay: Earn $30,000 to $60,000 annually on a part-time schedule based entirely on your production and team performance milestones.
  • Uncapped Upside: Your earning power is directly tied to the results you and your trainees produce-there is no ceiling.
  • Schedule Autonomy: Enjoy the flexibility of a part-time contract role tailored around key event windows.
  • Strong Brand Backing: Partner with an established, trusted brand that provides highly marketable home improvement solutions.
