Job description

A prominent manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area is seeking a Controls Engineerto join their team. This is a direct hire position!

Responsibilities include:

  • Complete design of electrical control systems including creation of electrical schematics using AutoCAD for new and retrofit welding and assembly equipment
  • Assist engineers in specifying ancillary robotic welding equipment including weld guns, torches, cabling, dress out, tool changers, tip dressers, and torch cleaners.
  • Understand, support, and program complete PLC and HMI programs located in equipment on the facility floor

This is full-time, salary role is part of our team and reports to the Engineering Manager.

Required experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to work with Allen Bradley Microview Software and Faunc Programming

  • Motoman Robotic Programming

You should be proficient in:

  • PLC Troubleshooting Skills
  • Troubleshooting Skills
  • Industrial Robot Programming
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • PLC Programming Experience
