ASSISTANT ENGINEER – SIU – Ocean Class 


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Assistant Engineer – Oceans, Any HP, Limited – 1600 GRT/3000 ITC License  
  • Valid STCW with all required endorsements (including, but not limited to Officer in Charge of Engineering Watch, Advanced Firefighting, and Medical Care Provider) 
  • TWIC 
  • Valid Passport - must be able to travel internationally with no felonies, DUI, or other convictions which would restrict entry into other countries 
  • CPR/First Aid 

Minimum Experience

  • 1 year service as Engineer 
  • Familiarity with Towing vessel deck machinery 
  • Familiarity with PLC control systems 
  • Computer proficiencies with Word, Excel, Outlook and Maintenance based programs.

Preferred Experience: 

  • Caterpillar or Wartsila experience 
  • Kongsberg Dynamic Positioning system Training  

Expectation: May be assigned to other classes of vessels as necessary 

Probation: 90 days 

Compensation: As Per Contract 

Geographic Area: Lake Charles Homeport

These sailing positions require a flexible sailing schedule provided within the agreement between Crowley Towing and SIU for the East of Panama based vessels.
