Assistant Embassy Chef Jobs (NOW HIRING)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols.

Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools, are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! $16 - $17 hourly

• Observe all company-required food safety guidelines and protocols in the areas where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is utilized
• Assist other cooks in the kitchen as needed with preparing simple recipes such as soups, sauce reduction, and brewing coffee and tea
• Follow instructions for recipes. Read meal charts and labels in English and use the measuring tools correctly
• Wash, sort, prep, slice, and measure ingredients for recipes, using condiments, vegetables, and proteins, and mixing sauces for use in various meals
• Keep all prep and workstation areas organized and equipment hygienic and sanitized at closing

• Must be comfortable handling sharp knives and other kitchen tools when prepping food
• You should possess the basic knowledge of food preparation and perform these duties with minimal supervision from the head cook or chef
• Flexibility to work weekend hours and holidays if necessary, as well as some extended hours
• Understanding of how to read recipes, meal charts, measuring tools, and labels in English
• Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time, as well as lift 35 to 50 pounds, pull heavier items, and bend frequently
