Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Electrical Designer to develop electrical system layouts, schematics, and construction drawings for commercial, industrial, residential, or infrastructure projects. The Electrical Designer will collaborate with engineers, project managers, architects, and clients to ensure electrical systems meet project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems
  • Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel schedules
  • Develop layouts using CAD or BIM software such as AutoCAD or Revit
  • Perform electrical load calculations and equipment sizing
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams including mechanical, civil, and structural departments
  • Ensure designs comply with NEC, local building codes, and industry standards
  • Review and revise drawings based on project requirements and client feedback
  • Assist in preparing project specifications, cost estimates, and technical documentation
  • Support field inspections, troubleshooting, and construction administration when required
  • Maintain organized project documentation and revision tracking

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, Design Technology, or related field
  • 2-3 years of electrical design experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, or other electrical design software
