Electrical Designer I

Job Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Designer will assist Electrical Engineer and/or Electrical Design Team to design, implement, and draft construction documents in support of clients' building program, including lighting and power design.
  • Designer should utilize education and experience to independently tackle minor challenges as they arise on projects, with the support and/or direction of the Electrical Engineer or Electrical Design Team lead.
  • Designer should start to apply NEC and other national code information for construction documents, with oversight from Electrical Engineer or Electrical Design Team Lead.
  • Designer should begin to learn fault current calculations and ability to draw 1-Line diagram for simple projects.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Designer will develop skills in AutoCAD and/or REVIT, develop strong understanding of NEC and other relevant national codes, travel to project as necessary (as required by client).
  • Designer will work in a collaborative environment with Architects and other Engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients' requirements
  • Designer will perform quality control of their own work prior to giving to Electrical Engineer for final review.
  • Depending on needs of client and team, Designer could have direct contact with client on a regular basis.
