Looking for a hands-on role with steady hours, strong benefits, and the opportunity to make an immediate impact? Gannett Publishing Services is hiring a motivated part-time Assistant District Manager to support our Newspaper Distribution Centers in Binghamton. In this role, you’ll help keep operations running smoothly by supporting home and business deliveries, assisting with distribution center activities, and helping ensure customers receive exceptional service. What You’ll Do

  • Distribute and handle daily and non-daily products for carriers, haulers, retailers, and consumers.
  • Unload and load trucks containing print publications.
  • Open the distribution center and prepare for independent contractor arrivals by printing, organizing, and distributing required reports and paperwork.
  • Use industry-specific software to complete reporting and support operational needs.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the distribution center.
  • Complete required documentation and reports as needed.
  • Assist with deliveries and help resolve subscriber service issues.
  • Maintain and repair news racks throughout the assigned distribution area.
  • Support the training of Product Handlers or Product Coordinators as needed.

  • Valid driver’s license, dependable automobile, liability insurance, and a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for a fast-paced work environment.
    Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Management experience or leadership skills are a plus.
    Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift boxes and bundles weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work varied days and hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
