Job Description
Position Summary
As part of the Media Team within the Creative Department at River Valley Church, the Filmmaker works both collaboratively and independently to create original video content that clearly communicates the mission, vision, and values of River Valley Church. The role spans the full production process - from concept to final delivery - and requires someone who is equally comfortable behind the camera, in the edit bay, and in a creative brainstorm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Filmmaker is required to perform a range of duties including, but not limited to:
  • Work independently, as well as with a team, to develop creative video ideas
  • Work efficiently and professionally in the film studio and on location.
  • Set up shoots and design lighting; select the appropriate gear for each project
  • Edit video and deliver polished, finished pieces
  • Report project statuses to the team throughout the process
  • Handle multiple film projects in different stages of production at any given time.
  • Function in various roles on a per-project basis, including pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Assist with weekend content capture, as needed
  • Be flexible for the occasional evening and weekend shots
  • Adapt to changing priorities and competing deadlines

Qualifications
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Strong time management and problem solving skills
  • Experience editing video using the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in lighting and sound recording
  • Experience with After Effects is a plus

Education
Any combination of education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described with an emphasis on continual learning.
Experience
Successful candidate should have at least 2-3 years related experience.
