Job Summary: As a Web Content Producer, you will play a vital role in creating and managing engaging digital content for our station's websites, apps, and social media platforms. Your responsibilities include gathering, writing, editing, and posting news stories, as well as clipping and optimizing videos for digital distribution. You will also assist in editing and posting vertical video content tailored for social media outlets and facilitate live event streaming. This position requires strong storytelling skills, technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to ensure accurate, timely, and compelling content across all digital channels.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create, write, edit, and research engaging news content tailored for digital platforms to drive audience engagement.
  • Manage and update the station’s social media accounts with timely and relevant posts, aligning with brand voice and objectives.
  • Optimize and upload multimedia content, including videos, photos, and graphics, to all digital platforms for maximum impact and reach.
  • Collaborate with broadcast producers, reporters, and photojournalists to translate broadcast news into compelling digital content, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.
  • Review and proofread stories for grammar, style, and content, adhering to journalistic integrity and legal standards.
  • Monitor real-time analytics and audience feedback to refine digital strategies and maximize audience growth.
  • Stay updated on digital trends, tools, and technologies to enhance the station's digital presence and performance.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Schedule: This is a full-time position primarily working 40 hours per week. You may also be called upon at times to fill in other hours and days of the week to help cover vacations, illnesses, holidays, breaking news, severe weather, or special projects/events. This position is not eligible to work remotely.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or related field preferred. Related experience will be evaluated and may be substituted as years of education.
  • 1 -2 years of TV Newsroom or digital journalism experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with broadcast news and newsroom operation, content management systems (CMS), social media platforms including vertical video, and digital analytics tools.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong grasp of AP style and journalistic standards.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content under tight deadlines.
  • Strong command of current events, including local news, national news, world news and sports.
  • Skilled in multimedia production, including video editing software (ex. Adobe Premiere, etc.) and photo editing tools (ex. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Express, etc.) as well as the ability to learn new systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Link of work and writing samples required.
  • Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
