Position Overview

The Lead Content Producer serves as the lead photography and visual content expert, owning the creative execution and visual quality of all brand imagery across digital, social, retail, and campaign channels. This role is responsible for translating brand strategy into high-impact visual storytelling that elevates brand perception and drives engagement and business results.

Operating as a senior individual contributor, this role leads the end-to-end production of content with a strong emphasis on professional photography, ensuring all assets meet premium visual standards while scaling efficiently across channels. The Lead Content Producer partners cross-functionally with Brand, Marketing, and Creative teams to deliver best-in-class content and plays a critical role in advancing the company’s visual identity.


Key Responsibilities

 

Photography Leadership & Visual Storytelling

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for photography, leading the creative execution of product, lifestyle, and brand imagery.
  • Own and evolve photography standards, including composition, lighting techniques, editing styles, and overall visual quality.
  • Translate brand strategy, campaign objectives, and business priorities into compelling visual content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Lead both studio and on-location photo shoots, directing all aspects including concepting, shot lists, lighting design, talent direction, and post-production.
  • Act as the final quality authority for photography and visual content across all channels.

Content Production & Execution

  • Own the end-to-end production of content across photography, video, and digital assets, ensuring high-quality, on-brand delivery.
  • Lead content creation that supports product launches, campaigns, and always-on marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure all content is optimized for channel-specific requirements, including social, web, eCommerce, and retail environments.
  • Balance high-volume content production needs with premium visual standards.

Project Ownership & Production Management

  • Own intake, prioritization, and execution of content requests, ensuring clear scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Develop and manage production schedules, shoot calendars, and project timelines.
  • Proactively identify risks, solve problems, and drive projects forward to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure efficient execution through structured workflows and project management tools.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Brand, Digital Marketing, eCommerce, and Sales teams to align content with business objectives and campaign priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with Creative leadership to ensure alignment with brand direction and visual identity.
  • Manage and direct external creative partners, including photographers, stylists, agencies, and production vendors.

Content Quality & Brand Consistency

  • Ensure all content aligns with brand standards, guidelines, and visual identity.
  • Provide direction and feedback on creative assets to maintain consistency and elevate overall output.
  • Support the development and refinement of content and photography guidelines.

Process Improvement & Scalability

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve content production efficiency, scalability, and speed-to-market.
  • Establish best practices for content workflows, asset management, and production processes.
  • Contribute to building a sustainable, high-performing content engine that supports ongoing business growth.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Photography, or related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience in content production with deep specialization in professional photography and visual content creation.
  • Professional portfolio required demonstrating advanced photography capabilities across product, lifestyle, and brand storytelling.
  • Proven experience owning and executing full-scale photo productions, including concepting, lighting design, shoot direction, and post-production.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including expert-level Photoshop and Lightroom editing.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in high-volume content environments while maintaining premium visual quality.
  • Strong understanding of brand systems, visual identity development, and content strategy.
  • Experience managing and directing external creative partners, including photographers, stylists, and production vendors.
  • Hands-on experience with studio equipment, lighting rigs, and on-location production setups.
  • Strong understanding of content requirements across digital, social, and eCommerce platforms.
  • Experience supporting national campaigns, brand initiatives, and large-scale content production efforts.
  • Experience producing content for eCommerce, paid media, and performance marketing at scale.
  • Experience in CPG, retail, or agency environments preferred.
  • Internal Only: Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
