Content Specialist

Full-Time

Position Description

The Content Specialist creates photo and video content that communicates the work of Hamilton County Educational Service Center, its client school districts, and educational partners. This position produces photo and video content for social media, websites, email, and other marketing channels to increase engagement and awareness of HCESC's programs and services.

As a member of the HCESC Communications and Marketing team, the Content Specialist collaborates on projects from planning through completion, including writing, photography, videography, video editing, social media, and marketing. This position works with internal and external clients to identify content needs, produces creative work that maintains the organization's brand voice and visual identity, and stays current with emerging social media trends and digital communication best practices.

Qualifications 

Employment in this position is contingent upon compliance with applicable pre-employment requirements, including the satisfactory completion of required criminal records checks and fingerprinting in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 3319.39 and other applicable laws and HCESC policies.

Required

  • Education: High School diploma
  • Certificates, Certifications, or Other Training: None
  • Previous Work-Related Experience: 2-4 years
  • Previous Supervisory Experience: None

Preferred

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital media, communications, graphic design, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of previous experience in visual content creation and/or digital marketing

Essential Job Functions

Photo & Video Content Production

  • Plan and execute photo and video shoots highlighting students, educators, schools, programs, services, and events.
  • Capture high-quality photography and videography for social media, websites, email campaigns, and marketing materials.
  • Develop engaging visual stories that communicate HCESC's mission and impact.
  • Produce short-form video and multimedia content optimized for digital platforms.
  • Create content that aligns with organizational messaging and campaign objectives.

Video Editing & Content Development

  • Edit video content for multiple platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and websites.
  • Create reels, highlight videos, event recaps, and promotional content.
  • Adapt content formats to meet platform-specific requirements and audience preferences.
  • Maintain quality standards and consistency in visual storytelling.
  • Organize and manage digital media assets and project files.

Content Strategy & Brand Stewardship

  • Monitor social media and digital communication trends to identify new content opportunities.
  • Recommend innovative content ideas and storytelling approaches.
  • Ensure all content follows brand standards, visual identity, and organizational voice.
  • Support content planning and campaign development efforts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of digital engagement strategies.

Collaboration & Client Support

  • Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing team to develop and execute content strategies.
  • Meet with internal departments, school districts, and partners to identify storytelling opportunities.
  • Assist the Lead Videographer on internal and external projects as assigned.
  • Coordinate project requirements, timelines, and deliverables with stakeholders.

Project Management & Administrative Support

  • Manage multiple content projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Prioritize assignments and maintain production schedules.
  • Organize content assets, files, and workflows for efficient project execution.
  • Support additional communications and marketing initiatives as assigned.
