Clinical Psychologist Responsibilities:
  • Complete psychosocial assessment (appropriate to patient type and reason for referral) to assist in the development of a care plan.
  • Provide brief, targeted intervention for identified patients.
  • Provide education/consultation to patient/family, treatment team and community.
  • Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and patient records of all patients seen.
  • Integrate practice and institutional expectations.
  • Provide timely continuing care planning.
  • Actively collaborate with case management and health care team in the identification of outcome indicators, in data collection and analysis and in subsequent system improvement.
  • Provide individual and/or family therapy for identified patients.
  • Formulate and conduct educational, therapeutic, and/or support groups.
  • Contribute to the training experience of mental health technicians.
  • Crisis response and follow-up care in the event of unit casualties or other serious incidents.
  • Participate in and utilize supervision to assess the level of competence in clinical areas, identify areas for professional growth, and establish mutually agreed-upon goals.
  • Treatment planning using evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions.
  • Produce reports of evaluations and/or treatment as required.
  • Assist and participate in psychological evaluations required by military schools and/or programs.
  • Clinical supervision of para-professional staff, students pursuing an advanced degree in psychology, and unlicensed psychologists.
  • Use of behavior health measures, symptom checklists, and psychological/neuropsychological assessment instruments to assist in diagnostic clarification and treatment planning.
  • Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, and military commands as appropriate.
Clinical Psychologist - REQUIREMENTS
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PH.D.) or Psychology Doctor (Psy.D.) Degree.
  • Completion of an American Psychological Association (APA) approved internship/residency in clinical psychology.
  • Minimum 2-year post-doctoral experience within the past 5 years, preferably in a Government setting.
  • Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Must have current license to practice medicine in any state, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States of Columbia.
