Job Title: Accountant I - Tax/Compliance
FLSA Status: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting the tax team in providing timely and accurate financial information to management, tax authorities, regulatory agencies, and auditors while being responsive to the needs of internal and external customers. Work with complex data and demonstrate the ability to analyze, interpret, and make decisions based on varying facts and circumstances.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns and regulatory filings timely and accurately.
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory and GAAP tax provisions.
  • Assist with a wide range of compliance and risk management initiatives.
  • Assist with responding to tax and insurance department authorities.
  • Maintain fixed assets for various entities.
  • Assist with AI, data analytics and process improvement initiatives.
  • Research federal and state tax and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with federal and state audits.
  • Assist in maintaining the tax and the finance regulatory compliance calendar.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or businessadministration with a minimum of an accounting concentration.
  • 1 - 2 years of generalbusiness, insurance or related experience is desired.
  • Certified PublicAccountant (CPA) designation is desired.
  • Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and/or Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF) designation is desired.
