Job description

Now Hiring Assistant Center Director โ€“ Ayden, NC Where Leadership Grows (and Play Still Matters!)

Care-O-World Early Learning Centers is looking for a motivated, people-centered leader to step into the Assistant Center Director role at our Ayden location. This position is perfect for someone ready to grow their leadership skills while making a real impact on staff, families, and children every single day.

This is more than a support roleโ€”itโ€™s a hands-on leadership opportunity where youโ€™ll help guide daily operations, support classroom success, and partner closely with the Center Director to keep the center running smoothly and joyfully.

As Assistant Director, youโ€™ll be a key part of that momentumโ€”supporting staff, stepping in where needed, and helping ensure our classrooms are safe, engaging, and aligned with Care-O-World standards.

You wonโ€™t be doing this alone. Youโ€™ll have direct mentorship from the Center Director, ongoing support from our leadership team, and real opportunities to grow into higher leadership roles.

Weโ€™re Looking for a Leader Who Is:
  • Kind โ€“ Approachable, supportive, and relationship-driven
  • Smart โ€“ Organized, solution-focused, and eager to learn
  • Playful โ€“ Brings positivity, creativity, and joy to the workday

(Yesโ€”those are our core values, and we truly live them.)

The Basics (Ideal, Not Set in Stone)
  • Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • NC Early Childhood Administration Credential (or willingness to work toward it)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a licensed child care setting
  • Working knowledge of NC licensing, health & safety, and classroom support
  • A leadership style that is supportive, consistent, and encouraging
What Youโ€™ll Love About Care-O-World
  • Strong partnership with a dedicated Center Director
  • Support from a long-tenured, hands-on admin team
  • Weekly leadership connection through The Leadership Loop
  • A culture rooted in Kind. Smart. Playful.
  • Ongoing professional development and leadership growth opportunities
  • Competitive salary and benefits, with room to grow within the organization
