Job Title: Salad Bar

Job Summary:

The Salad Bar Attendant is responsible for maintaining the salad bar, ensuring that all food offerings are fresh, properly stocked, and visually appealing, as well as following recipes to make several prepared salad items. This role requires attention to detail, and a passion for food quality and safety, along with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Salad Bar Duties:

  • Set up and maintain a well-stocked salad bar with fresh ingredients, dressings, and condiments, ensuring items are replenished throughout the day.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the salad bar, removing outdated or spoiled items and replenishing as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service, assisting guests with salad bar selections and offering recommendations.
  • Ensure all salad bar items are displayed in an attractive, appealing manner, consistent with restaurant standards.
  • Follow all food safety regulations for storing and handling salad bar ingredients.
  • Prepare a variety of salad bar items, such as broccoli salad, carrot salad, coleslaw, crab salad, etc, according to established recipes and restaurant standards.
  • Assist with the breakdown of the salad bar at the end of each shift, ensuring all items are properly stored or disposed of.

General Responsibilities:

  • Uphold a positive, team-oriented attitude and work efficiently in collaboration with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Ensure all food preparation is performed in accordance with the restaurant’s health and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sanitizing workstations, equipment, and utensils.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding inventory needs and food quality concerns.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned by the kitchen supervisor or manager.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in food service or similar roles preferred, with knowledge of Southern cuisine and comfort foods a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for food presentation.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs and perform repetitive tasks, including placing items on high shelves or in walk-in coolers/freezers.
