Job description

Job Summary:

The Radiology Support Assistant will assist with the flow of imaging images and reports from all the modalities used for the care of each patient within the system.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists the technologists with the daily workflow of imaging patients.
  • Verifies patient identification using two patient identifiers.
  • Transports patients from other units and departments to the radiology department.
  • Escorts patients to and from the waiting room to the appropriate department.
  • Prints reports, makes CD's, and electronically share images as requested.
  • Receives, imports, and logs outside images into PACS and Epic.
  • Utilizes e-sharing image solution to expedite image transfers.
  • Maintains appropriate tracking mechanisms for incoming and outgoing imaging records.

Education:

  • High School Degree or GED (required)
  • Associate degree (preferred)

Licensure/Certification:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (required)

Experience:

  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred)
  • Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) experience (preferred)
  • Healthcare experience (preferred)

Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrates problem solving, active listening, time management, organization and adaptability skills.
  • Possesses ability to provide a strong customer service via email communication and phone etiquette in a high stress environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite and radiology imaging anatomy.
