Description

The Associate Sleepwear Designer will support the design team in creating trend-right, brand-appropriate sleepwear collections that resonate with the target consumer. This role assists in executing the design process from concept through final product, ensuring designs are aesthetically compelling, commercially viable, and aligned with business objectives. The Associate Sleepwear Designer will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including merchandising, product development, and sourcing to bring collections to market on time.


Responsibilities

  • Support the design team in researching and interpreting seasonal trends, color stories, fabrics, prints, and silhouettes relevant to sleepwear.
  • Assist in developing seasonal assortments that align with brand identity and target customer.
  • Create and update technical design packages, including sketches, CADs, colorways, and specs.
  • Help source and select fabrics, trims, and prints suitable for sleepwear, with attention to comfort, quality, and cost.
  • Partner with product development and sourcing teams to ensure design feasibility and cost targets are met.
  • Support merchants and planners in building balanced assortments that meet aesthetic, margin, and pricing requirements.
  • Prepare materials for design presentations and assist in presenting line concepts and updates.
  • Review lab dips, strike-offs, fabric qualities, and samples to ensure alignment with design intent.
  • Track sample progress and manage updates within the seasonal calendar.
  • Assist in fit sessions by providing design feedback and documenting follow-ups.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive landscape and market trends.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of design experience, preferably in sleepwear, intimates, or loungewear.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD programs.
  • Strong sketching, CAD, and presentation skills.
  • Basic understanding of garment construction and technical design processes.

Onsite Work Schedule

5 days a week in the office


New York Pay Rate $60,000.00 - $80,000.00
