Job Title: QAD, System Administrator

Role Level: Individual Contributor (IC)

Supervisor/Manager Title: Chief Financial Officer

Job Location & Environment: Irvine, CA – Corporate Office Environment

Job Description Summary: The QAD System Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and optimization of the company’s QAD ERP system. This role ensures that QAD operates efficiently, securely, and reliably to support business operations across all departments. The administrator will manage user access, monitor system performance, coordinate upgrades and patches, and serve as the primary liaison between IT, QAD users, and QAD support.

Job Responsibilities:

  • System Administration
    • Manage and maintain QAD ERP environments, including production, test, and development systems (“QAD PROD”, “QAD DEV”, “QAD TEST”).
    • Monitor system performance, database health, and application availability.
  • User Management
    • Create and maintain user accounts, roles, and security permissions.
    • Support end users with system access and troubleshooting.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades
    • Plan system patches, upgrades, and service packs in coordination with QAD and internal teams.
    • Test and validate new releases, integrations, and enhancements before deployment.
  • Support and Troubleshooting
    • Act as primary point of contact for QAD technical issues and coordinate with QAD support as needed.
    • Resolve application and database performance issues promptly.
    • Document processes, configurations, and support procedures.
  • Integration and Development Support
    • Collaborate with business analysts and developers to support QAD integrations with third-party systems (e.g., FloQast, LucaNet).
    • Assist in deploying and maintaining customizations and extensions.
  • Compliance and Security
    • Ensure system and data security in compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
    • Maintain proper change management and documentation for all QAD system modifications.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience administering QAD ERP systems (QAD.NET and QAD AUX) for a manufacturing company (medical device company preferred).
  • Experience with Progress/OpenEdge databases and Linux/Unix environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with QAD tools such as QXtend, QAD Automation Solutions, or QAD EDI a plus.
  • QAD Certified Professional (QAD Cloud or On-Premise ERP)
