Job description

7NEWS in Boston is looking for a motivated assignment editor who thrives in a fast-paced, breaking news environment. Candidate must be detail focused and able to multi-task. We’re looking for someone who is driven to find the most important and compelling stories of the day and deploy 7NEWS crews and resources for optimum coverage. Candidate should excel at handling last-minute changes, communicate effectively and display a fierce commitment to quality journalism.

This job is part-time and includes weekend mornings. Work is 100% on-site at the station’s downtown Boston office. A minimum of two years of assignment desk experience preferred. Knowledge of Boston and New England a plus. WHDH-TV is an Equal Opportunity Employer.


The expected salary range for this position is $16.00 to $18.00 hourly. The final offer will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, knowledge and skills.
