Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the direct supervision of the Asset Protection Area Manager (APAM) the role of the Asset Protection Agent (APA) is to ensure the safety of our customers and associates along with the protection of company assets. The APA is the first and last impression of the WSS brand and must be helpful and courteous to our customers. To be effective at this job, APA should be detail-oriented team players with strong leadership and decision-making skills.

Essential Duties and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor sales floor by providing ECS and using CCTV as needed to identify suspicious behavior.
  • Handle emergency/crisis incidents while ensuring the safety and security of all store team members and customers.
  • Notify APAM of all theft incidents or situations where law enforcement has been called.
  • When able, assist with customer service and direct customers to the appropriate department and/or team members.
  • Promote teamwork by educating store associates and new hires on safety and their role in preventing loss.
  • Responsible for monitoring mis-mates, conducting cycle counts, managing the pilferage process, etc.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience in security, asset protection, and/or retail a plus.

WORK HOURS

  • Available to work a variety of hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to bend and twist at the waist, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, kneel or squat, as needed
  • Stand or walk at least 2 hours in duration.
  • Lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Climb a step stool or ladder
  • Communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
