Job description

FIRM OVERVIEW:

Stockdale Capital Partners is a vertically integrated real estate investment firm with a 30-year history of investing in commercial real estate across asset classes throughout the U.S. The firm invests in opportunistic and value-add strategies across all property types and currently manages over $3 billion in AUM on behalf of several legacy joint ventures as well as four (4) discretionary funds. The firm is actively investing out of its second discretionary opportunity fund, which held its final close in Q1 2025 at over $700 million. Headquartered in Los Angeles, the firm has seven offices and over 100 employees.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Asset Management Analyst will play an integral role in supporting the strategy, performance, execution, and value creation of Stockdale Capital Partners' retail real estate portfolio across the full investment life cycle. The Analyst will work closely with senior asset management professionals, acquisitions, leasing, property management, and development teams to evaluate opportunities, support transaction execution, and ensure assets perform in line with underwriting assumptions and investment objectives from initial evaluation through disposition.

  • Build and maintain financial models in Excel and Argus to evaluate asset performance, leasing scenarios, and capital investment strategies
  • Monitor property performance against underwriting, budgets, and business plans and identify opportunities to enhance value
  • Support the execution of asset-level business plans including repositioning strategies, leasing initiatives, refinancings, and dispositions
  • Work closely with leasing teams to evaluate prospective tenants, analyze proposed lease terms, and support efforts to drive occupancy and optimize tenant mix
  • Track lease expirations, options, restrictions, and key lease provisions across the portfolio
  • Assist with the financial evaluation of lease transactions and tenant credit review where applicable
  • Prepare financial analyses, portfolio updates, and presentations for senior management, investors, and lenders
  • Support capital improvement initiatives including budgeting, return analysis, and coordination with development and property management teams
  • Conduct market and competitive research to inform leasing and strategic decisions across the portfolio
  • Coordinate across internal teams and third-party partners to support execution of asset-level initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent undergraduate record with a degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • ~1-3 years of experience in real estate private equity, asset management, acquisitions, investment sales, development, or a related financial role
  • Proficiency in Argus
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of real estate finance, valuation, leasing, and property operations
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to synthesize analysis and articulate conclusions

Additionally, ideal candidates will be team players suited to work within an entrepreneurial, collaborative culture. The firm is on an exciting growth trajectory, necessitating the need for self-motivated and proactive individuals with an ability to work independently and a strong desire to learn. The role is full-time and in-person in the firm's Los Angeles office and may involve occasional travel.
