Animatronic and Electro-mechanical Assembly Technician

About the Opportunity:
As an Animatronic and Electro-mechanical Assembly Technician at LF Studios, you will play a crucial role in bringing imaginative designs to reality. You will be responsible for the precise assembly of mechanical and structural components for animatronics and metal structures, as well as the meticulous routing and securing of wiring harnesses. Your keen eye for detail, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to quality will be essential as you collaborate within a larger team to meet project goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to and promote safe work practices within a manufacturing environment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming components to ensure quality standards as the last set of eyes before assembly.
  • Precisely fabricate components using a variety of mechanical fastening methodologies.
  • Accurately document work completed and strictly adhere to related quality policies.
  • Assemble animatronic armatures according to detailed technical drawings with the aid of 3D models while documenting as required.
  • Contribute valuable insights to project designs, leveraging best practices, existing equipment, and prototype feedback.
  • Accurately route and secure wiring harnesses, demonstrating knowledge of various retention techniques.
  • Proactively identify and resolve assembly challenges, collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality standards throughout the assembly process.
  • Effectively communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to the project team.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency in the safe and efficient use of a variety of hand tools.
  • Proficiency in using basic precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers.
  • Familiarity with the safe operation of metalworking equipment and tools commonly found in a job shop environment (e.g., drill press, band saws, oxy-acetylene, welding equipment).
  • Strong ability to interpret and understand detailed mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Experience utilizing CAD models to comprehend complex assembly sequences and operational order.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in assembling and/or fabricating mechanical components or systems.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License.

Bonus Skills (A Plus):
  • Basic understanding of pneumatic systems.
  • Basic understanding of electric motors and controls.

Physical Requirements:
