How You'll Contribute

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who excels in this role:

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
• Measures and records vital signs, intake and output, and patient observations.
• Reports changes in patient condition promptly to the nursing team.
• Assists with patient transfers, repositioning, and ambulation while maintaining patient safety.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment.
• Supports nurses and other healthcare team members in delivering quality patient care.
• Assists with stocking supplies and maintaining unit readiness.
• Documents care provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Licensure

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.

Certifications

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Handle with Care certification preferred.

Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is a 157-bed facility that includes 131 licensed acute care beds and 26 skilled nursing home beds. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the hospital offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services supported by a highly skilled and diverse medical staff. Key services include a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, a 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit, a Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, five Operating Rooms, and two Endoscopy Suites. Advanced diagnostic imaging services include MRI, CT, PET/CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and X-ray. The hospital's 13-bay Emergency Department treats more than 15,000 patients annually.

Highpoint Health - Sewanee with Ascension Saint Thomas, located on the campus of the University of the South, is a 41-bed facility offering 21 general acute care beds and 20 skilled nursing beds. The campus includes a 4-bay Emergency Department that cares for more than 5,000 patients each year. Known for its personalized approach to healthcare and strong community connections, the Sewanee campus delivers exceptional care in a collaborative environment.
