Job description

Valiant is looking for an Enlisted Senior Trainer (EST) to join our team! This position is a fulltime Exempt (salary) position, supporting the ARNG Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP). The Enlisted Senior Trainer (EST) is the principal Enlisted Mission Command training advisor to assigned Army National Guard Commanders and senior command and staff noncommissioned officers. ESTs develop and maintain a positive mentoring and coaching relationship with assigned units while assisting them in achieving their Mission Command proficiency aimpoints.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Works in conjunction with the assigned OST as the alternate point of contact to obtain, review and process training requests IAW the Training Unit Commander's intent MCTPS scope of work, and ARNG training guidance.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on doctrine, techniques, and procedures in the integration of all Warfighting Functions throughout the Operations Process and Command Post operations.
  • Advises, recommends, assists, coordinates, facilitates and supports unit commanders and senior noncommissioned officers in the development, execution, and synchronization of unit mission command training in the live, virtual, constructive and gaming domains.
  • Assists the OST or serves as the project manager for designated small, medium, and large event training and exercises incorporating the MCTSP Joint Event Life Cycle process.
  • Mentors, coaches, and teaches training management to unit commanders and staffs in the development of long-range training strategies.
  • Assist units with the planning and establishment of an annual AMCS Operator Training Program with the use of Digital Gunnery Rosters to track certifications, troop turbulence, new operator or refresher training, etc.
  • Assist unit with identifying, planning, coordinating for basic Operator Training (CPOF, JCR/JBC, DCGS-A, AFATDS, AMDWS/TAIS, etc).
  • Reports directly to the aligned OST.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Previous Battalion level or higher echelon Sergeants Major experience; Brigade or Division-level Sergeants Major and primary staff NCOIC experience is preferred.
  • Graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeant Major Academy or similar experience.
  • Two (2) years' experience with exercise planning using the JELC process.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors' degree, subject immaterial (preferred) or 5 years of experience in a related field.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Active Secret preferred.
Work Week: Monday-Friday (may vary based on mission requirements)
Work Hours: 0800 - 1700 (may vary based on mission requirements)
Overtime: As Required
Travel: As Required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Office environment, occasionally outdoors. Occasional exposure to natural conditions existing at different locations around the US.
