Functional Property Management Specialist II - Gunsmith/Armorer ***This position requires an active secret clearance.*** This position is in the Countermeasures Directorate (C), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), Office of Physical Security Programs, Defensive Equipment Armored Vehicles (DEAV) Division. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Functional Property Management Specialist II - Gunsmith/Armorer: Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Functional Property Management Specialist II - Gunsmith/Armorer Responsibilities Include: * This position may require overseas and/or domestic travel (less than 10%).
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of DS Special Protective Equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain professional working relationships with a wide variety of government and contractor staff.
  • Proven ability to directly support logistic positions.
  • Assists in drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Contract file documents, Memorandums, and weekly logistics reports pertaining to the procurement handling, programming and inventory accountability of all DS equipment deployed worldwide.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Functional Property Management Specialist II - Gunsmith/Armorer - Gunsmith/Armorer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: Associate's degree in business recommended but not required or Certified Professional Property Specialist (CPPS) or Certified Professional Property Administrator (CPPA) certification and 3 years' experience working in the logistics field.
  • Basic understanding of all relevant Foreign Affairs Manual and Foreign Affairs Handbook (FAM/FAH) regulations regarding property management and be able to provide relevant assistance to DS-field personnel.
  • Three years' experience in gunsmithing/armoring required.
  • May require the ability to obtain and maintain a Forklift Certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain certificate of gunsmithing from an accredited technical college/school, and/or manufacturer armor/operations manual for DS inventory.
  • Secret security clearance required to start, must be able to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Proficient written/verbal communications skills.
  • Required to follow all laws and regulations pertaining to transporting of Government owned weaponry and ammunition.
