Position:Project Manager- Construction/Maintenance

Fortis Native Group is hiring for a Project Manager for our Southern California contract. The Project Manager is responsible for the supervision, inspection, and control of all preventive maintenance and repair of buildings, mechanical systems, electrical requirements and related services associated with our NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO, contract. The PM must display effective leadership and supervision of employees to achieve teamwork, cooperation, and results while monitoring efficiency, productivity and fiscally responsibility. The ideal candidate will have experience managing skilled trade teams within a military environment. The Project Manager will support Fortis Industries and will report to the Program Manager. This position would be 100% onsite.

Key responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of contractual requirements and creation of schedules to maintain properly skilled staffing levels to satisfy those schedules.
  • Approves vacation time, overtime, and timecards.
  • Ability to train new employees on work-related equipment.
  • Ensures all equipment is in proper working condition including HVAC systems, water treatment systems, electrical systems, emergency generator systems and various other mechanical systems.
  • Orders replacement items through purchasing and works with vendors regarding repairs to existing equipment.
  • Perform any additional duties on an "as required" basis.
  • Issue reports and summaries as required.
  • Maintain appropriate records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Resolves clients' concerns, conducts follow‑up calls and makes onsite visit inspections for satisfactory job performance.
  • Meet periodically with clients and on‑site personnel to review status of various elements of facility services and to institute corrective measures for any deficiencies found.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • The Project Manager (PM) will have 5+ years’ experience inO&M of building operational systems including HVAC, Fire suppression systems, Environmental and electrical systems.
  • Microsoft Office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project)
  • Possess outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification or equivalent.
  • College degree or certification in related field desired.
  • Prior experience working with Federal contracts.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
  • Prior experience with NAVFAC or DoD construction/maintenance projects.
  • HVAC industry experience, or former Mechanical technician experience.
  • Experience in building management, inventory control, and work orders.
