Job description

Aspirus Health is seeking a therapeutic Medical Physicist to join our health system.

Based in Wausau, this position adds to a team of four other physicists to cover five cancer centers that serve Central Wisconsin.  Our team is dedicated to advanced patient care, exemplified through being a Varian Tours of Excellence site and a top enrolling community oncology program in the nation for NRG clinical trials.

  • Collaborate with a highly skilled team of physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and radiation oncologists.
  • Assist with clinical and quality assurance activities at Aspirus Health Cancer Centers, including SRS, motion managed SBRT, adaptive radiotherapy, and HDR. 
  • Utilize modern systems and QA equipment, including TrueBeam, Flexitron, Siemens CT, Eclipse, ARIA, and EPIC. 
  • Provide consultation, advice, education, and technical direction for physicians, clinical staff, administrators, and IT. 
  • The position will primarily support the Wausau main campus with occasional travel to a satellite center.
  • Use all the skills you trained for to help us keep our patients close to home.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of radiation oncology and related technology standards and protocols through completion of a masters degree in medical or radiological physics from an CAMPEP accredited institution.
  • Experience on TrueBeam treatment systems as a Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist or Resident.
  • ABR or ABMP certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics or eligibility to become certified within one year.
  • HDR AMP licensure in Wisconsin or eligibility to become so per WI DHS 157.61(8) within one year.
