About the role:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing exceptional analytical support to the Capital Markets team and their clients. They will work primarily in the areas of valuation, financial analysis, and in the preparation of relevant presentation material for pitches and proposals.

In this role, you will:

  • Work autonomously to analyze, underwrite and forecast property cash flows and valuations using excel spreadsheet analysis and performs complex Argus modeling.
  • Researches and develops assumptions required for the development of values such as market growth rates, rents, construction costs, lease rates.
  • Develops opinions and recommendations on potential development opportunities through analysis of various inputs that affect overall value and liquidity of assets.
  • May liaise with municipalities to confirm land use designations, development service charges, and existing services.
  • Performs financial and cost analyses (e.g. cash-flow analysis, lease analysis, IRR calculations) and prepares related reports.
  • Conducts scenario analysis (e.g. lease restructuring - buy-outs, renewal vs. relocation scenarios)
  • Analyzes property values relative to market conditions and recent sales data.
  • Involved in developing strategy for pitches from a finance perspective; may be involved in presenting pitches to existing and potential clients.
  • Conducts on-going market research and maintains a sale transaction database for Northern California/Nevada
  • Assists with research, development and writing offering materials and broker opinions of value
  • Assists with Due Diligence/Transaction Management as needed

What you bring:

  • 1+ years' experience in financial analytics of real estate or capital markets.
  • Strong understanding of Argus (Certified is a bonus)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • A background in Commercial Real Estate is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or related area.
  • Experience developing in-depth financial analysis.
