Estimator Job Description

 
Beam’s Millwork is seeking an Experienced Estimator to join their team!
At Beam’s Millwork, nestled in the heart of Morgantown, PA, we are renowned for our exceptional craftsmanship in architectural millwork. From residential sanctuaries to bustling commercial venues, our team elevates every space with unmatched precision and creativity. We are currently seeking a skilled and driven Estimator to join us in turning ideas into reality.
Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for millwork and casework projects, including commercial, institutional, and high-end residential markets.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine the scope of work and materials required.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, project managers, and clients to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
  • Utilize estimating software, specifically ProjectPak, to input data and generate comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary to gather additional information and verify project requirements.
  • Prepare bid proposals, including breakdowns of labor, materials, and other costs, and present them to clients and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor and track project budgets, providing regular updates and adjustments as needed to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure quality standards.
  • Review and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Assist in value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and related documentation for reference and audit purposes.
  • Stay current with industry trends, pricing, and advancements in materials and techniques to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in the architectural millwork industry, with a focus on estimating.
  • Strong understanding of millwork and casework construction methods, materials, and finishes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience with estimating software, particularly ProjectPak, is highly desirable.
  • Above-average computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
  • Familiarity with commercial, institutional, and high-end residential market requirements and standards.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to conduct site visits as needed.
