Job description

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - MP - VF for a Hybrid position with a Major Utility Company located in Valparaiso, IN. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This role involves working alongside a Project Manager to assist with a large-scale construction project. The successful candidate will provide field technical and IT support, assist in the development of procedural documents, monitor project costs and schedules, and employ project management processes to ensure project objectives are met.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide field technical/IT support for the coordinator group
  • Support development of policy, procedure, and training documents
  • Issue regular reports for weekend coverage, project accruals, etc
  • Monitor project costs and schedules
  • Employ project integration processes to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control projects
  • Integrate competence in the product life cycle components to the definition and management of non-product objectives (safety, cost, schedule, etc)
  • Employ quality, risk, procurement, cost, and schedule management processes
  • Effectively engage project stakeholders and apply proficiency in effective communication management
  • Manage projects in accordance with industry best practices and organizational guidelines

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field plus 2 years of technical experience, OR 5 years of project/architectural-engineering/technical experience
  • Existing experience as a Construction Manager (CM), Project Engineer 2 (PE2), or Senior Project Developer
  • Proficiency in leadership, management, and interpersonal skills in a "situational leadership" application
  • Capability to efficiently perform duties under stringent deadlines, schedules, and conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule
  • Ability to work in areas of high noise, dust, extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and chemical hazards
  • Must have a valid Driver's License

Desired skills:
  • Experience in the gas industry
  • Expanded knowledge in project management methodology, processes, tools, and techniques
  • Proficiency in project management information systems (PMIS) utilization and integration (scheduling software, risk management software, cost management software)

Pay range: up to $62.86 per hour
